Blazers take a 1 game lead in the McGowan
Sphinx and Blazers duel in an interleague battle.
Game 1: Kershaw @ Bauer
A Betts second inning grand slam and a Freeman 8th inning 3 run double pace a 9 run Blazer attack which was WAY more than enough for the game’s greatest pitcher (6 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 0 ER, 6 K) as Blazers cruise 9-4.

S Herrera (19)
Game 3: Iwakuma @ Quintana
A first inning Saunders single is followed by a Carpenter RBI double and Freeman RBI single in the second. A Saunders solo shot in the third pushed the lead to 4-0 and would be all the Blazers would get.

WP Quintana (8-4)
LP Iwakuma (2-7)

The Blazers slow start allows Salem to creep into a virtual tie for first place.
Blazers kick off the interleague schedule with a tilt with the Sovereigns.
Game 1: Kershaw @ Lester
Every once in a while, you play a series where up is down, white is black, and left is right. This was one.
A Betts first inning solo shot is bested by a Teoscar Hernandez 2 run blast off of Kershaw in the second.
A Carpenter single tied it in the 5th, but Hernandez untied it in the bottom half on a two run double.
A Guyer HR in the 6th off of Kershaw, his 7th given up on the season in 38 innings ( he gave up 8 ALL of last year) made it 5-2.
Top 8, a Betts single off of Melancon made it 5-3 and Blazers tie it in the 9th on a McCann 2 run double.
the Blazers, 10-0 in extras go to the weapon Devenski. With 2 outs and a runner on, Tulo boots a ball, allowing 3 UNEARNED runs to score when Morrison launched a PH 3 run HR to walk it off, breaking the Blazers extra inning streak at 10.
WP Miller (3-1)
LP Devenski (7-2)
Game 2: Greene @ Andreise
A Greene second inning single is matched by a Barnhardt double for a 1-1 tie.
A third inning Weeks double make it 2-1 Blazers.
Bottom 5, the wheels of the vaunted Blazer defense, who let down the team in game one, does it again in game two with EIGHT unearned runs in the 5th inning. EIGHT.
GAME OVER (you don’t come back from EIGHT UNEARNDED runs.)
WP Andriese (5-2)
LP Greene (4-2)
Game 3: Estrada @ Quintana
A Tulo HR in the second gives the home team a quick lead.
Top 3, Buckingham scores on what else? An error. 2-1.
Top 4, Blazer chapter 4 castaway from last year Luis Sardinas goes yard to give the Bucks a 3-2 lead.
A Carp sac fly in the 5th ties the game.
A Pujols single in the 6th gives the Sovereigns a lead they don’t give back 4-3.
WP Erik Estrada (5-4)
LP Quintana (7-5)
S Miller (2)
Game 4: Wright @ Moore

Castro, Carp and Freeman HR as Blazers salvage a win in a sloppy, sloppy 1-3 series loss.

After stewing over this for almost 2 weeks, Blazers a ready to play more (hopefully clean defensively) baseball.
