Pink Birds visit the Blazers
Game 1: It Doesn’t Matter @ Kershaw
Kershaw has pitched some disappointing games this year. This was not one of them (6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 10 K). Peralta starts where he left off last series going 3-3 with 2 HR and Choo and Castro go yard as Blazers roll 8-2.
WP Kershaw (19-6)
LP Haren (5-15)
Game 2: Locke @ It Doesn’t Matter
Warren was pretty good, going 5 IP with 1 ER (on a Butler second inning HR)
The problem was this:
Blazers first inning, BB, GIDP, flyout
second inning, groundout, groundout, K
third inning, K, groundout, groundout
fourth inning, groundout, groundout, groundout
fifth inning, lineout, BB, groundout, pop up
sixth inning, K, pop up, groundout
seventh inning, groundout, groundout, line out to left
eighth inning, groundout, K groundout.
ninth inning, K, PH grounder to third that Lowrie beats out to first base breaking up the no-no, which must have pissed Locke off because it was followed by K, K. Pinkies win 1-0 .
WP Locke (5-15)
LP Warren (7-6)
Game 3: May @ Anderson
First inning, a Betts RBI triple and Choo RBI single make it 2-0.
3-0 after two innings on a Peralta RBI single.
Anderson 7 IP, 10 H, 1 BB, 0 ER, 9 K.
KRod on in the 9th and the closest he let the tying run was to the on deck circle as Blazers win 3-0 .
WP Anderson (12-8)
LP May (4-3)
S KRod (30)
Game 4: Porcello @ Quintana
A first inning Eaton RBI single gives Vegas a 1-0 lead.
Bottom 3, a few Vegas miscues lead to 2 Blazers runs.
Bottom 5, Carpenter goes yard for a 4-1 Blazer lead.
Bottom 6, with 2 outs, Quintana laces an RBI double and Castro launces a 3 run bomb and it’s 8-1.
Bottom 7, Beast Peralta (his new nickname) scores Choo and it’s 10-1. Which, other than Quintana going 8.1 IP, 9 H, 0 BB, 11 K, is all you really need to know about the Blazer 3-1 series win .
WP Quintana (11-7)
LP Porcello (5-13)
Peralta now has 100 RBI on the season and has launched himself into MVP consideration, with Choo still the favorite. Magic number to dance is 11.
